Great images Brooklyn. That helps alot.

I've been working with Pepakura and managed to find a Metaseqoia file of the ride armor and Galant rifle. From that I was able to make a 2d template to base my son's armor off of. Hopefully I can get that printed up to scale so I can start carving the armor and weapon from foam for starters. I'll send pictures once I've got something worth showing. :)

Here are links to the templates I made up-

There are higher resolution images there but they are quite a bit bigger.

If anybody needs access to the meta files or Pepakura files let me know.

FRIENDLY UPDATE

RAN INTO A GOOD FRIEND FROM TOYNAMI TODAY BY MY SECOND JOB ON MY WAY TO GET COFFEE AND SPOKE ABOUT THE IDEA OF THE CVR ARMOR AND COMIC CON AND HOW THINGS WERE STANDING AS OF LATE. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT WILL PARTICIPATE AT COMIC CON AND THE HELP THAT WE NEED. OF COURSE WE TALKED MORE IN DETAIL AND I SENT HIM AN EMAIL WITH LINKS PROVIDED AS HE REQUESTED.

HOPE I HEAR BACK FROM HIM SOON AND WILL LET YOU KNOW ANYMORE UPDATES.

HOW GOOD IS THIS PERSON? HIS NAME IS IN PRACTICALLY EVERY TOYNAMI TOY.

LETS SEE WHAT NEWS HE HAS.

Hey, just a quick update on my son's costume. I was going to vacuum form the pieces out of plastic but decided that was too expensive so switched to foam rubber instead. I've got the helmet, arms and chest plate mostly done. Working on the legs and shorts(?) right now.

Should be ready to paint with liquid latex in a week or so. I'll post pictures when I get a chance to take some, definately before Halloween.

So Haloween is coming up and I'm done with everything but the legs and the gun. I'll be working on the legs tonight and hope to have everything ready for painting (liquid latex and actual paint) by this weekend.

The gun was pretty easy. I just used a piece of styrafoam and a hot wire to cut that out. I'll post some pictures of that once I get some more work done on it. I'm probably going to use PVC for the barrel and some pipe fittings to attach it to the gun body. Wood would have been better but I just don't have the time to carve it out.

I've still got to do something with the helmet. I had to make it out of some vacuum form plastic over a scateboarding helmet and another piece of plastic to elongate it in the back so it would come down to neck level. I'm thinking of using some acurlic based caulk (for homes) to goop on there and smooth everything over. That might be better then bondo since that stuff isn't meant to bend and would probably just break when the plastic gets pinched.

Here's those pic's I promesed last time. Enjoy.

Nope that, wasn't me. I don't think I would want to do that, it's too bulky to move around in. That guy can be seen here-

Of course I was inspired by him though. 8)

Once I've finished this one for my son I might start on a Southern Cross suit for myself. Depends on time and money, foam rubber ain't cheap.
