Where to find Robotech toys. 3 Years ago
Hi all. I just got into Robotech again with my 11 year old daughter. I've been looking all over eBay as well as Amazon for toys. They have very nice collectibles such as the Yamato series, Bandai toys, and others. However, the majority of them are new in box things and/or extremely expensive. I'm looking for opened, played with/displayed toys that are a little more reasonable in price that people are selling. Does anyone know where I can find these online or local? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks all! I'm glad to see that there are still a lot of Robotech fans out there.

eBay is probably the best place for finding loose Robotech toys for cheap. There's a store called Cards and Comics Central in San Francisco on Geary St. that has tons of Robotech toys too but they don't sell loose toys. I'd stay away from the Yamato toys if you want to "play" with them cause they're not a ruggedly built as the old 80's Takatoku/Bandai toys. This auction ends in less than 8 hours and is a pretty good deal:

Wondercon is also going on today in SF and they might have stuff. Otherwise you just have to be patient on ebay.

Thank you so much PS and MEM. I did attend WonderCon yesterday and was a bit dissapointed as there were only two vendors who had Robotech toys. One had a good assortment, but the prices were quite high, though it was about what one would pay on eBay. They other vendor had only two ships, the VF-1S and the VF-1J. Those were over the budget as well. I'll check out the store in San Francisco and try googling as well. I do have an old VF-1S that I purchased at a store in SF Chinatown back in the 80's. The scultp was not just pretty cool but it was made of mostly die-cast metal. Unfortunately, the hindges on the arms broke off. I've been trying to think of ways to fix it and I'm wondering if there is someone out there that can make an idential cold for the hinges.

I guess the answer to this is now...nowhere. I talked to a friend of mine who owns a collectible toy and comic book store in San Francisco and he updated me on the status of the Light Artillery Battlepod. Seems its release is now "indefinite" as there is no longer a release date or even a projected release date. Why? Lack of enough preorders to justify production. Guess enemy mecha really isn't popular and repaints are even less popular. Hopefully, this won't affect the Officer's pod or the new VF-1 variants which still also lack a release date.

If anyone up here in British Columbia, Canada, I know of a place that has tones of original robotech/macross toys. And I ain't talking about the cheap plastic toys. I mean the die cast metal and hard plastic ones made by Bandi!
