Musical instruments to help fly veritech jets? Now that is just lame! Macross 7 has to be the stupidest series ever! Mind that there were a few good scenes to watch. I just couldn't focus on this series. Lost interest in the beginning of it.

I know that after Macross movie DYRL that Macross 2 Lover's Again took place 80 years after.

Either way, would have been interesting seeing a other movie that follwed right after Macross DYRL in that same timeline, like when the new ship lunches and where they go into space.

With Macross 2, would have been interesting if did a prequel maybe showing or saying where the Marduke came from. Since it was never said where their homeworld was. All that was known was, that they roamed through the universe and any species that they came across that was either a threat or unlikley, they just annilated them. Would be interesting to know what the other species were they thaey came across.

Or a sequel to follow Macross 2.

Max, Macross DYRL-verse already had TWO direct sequels, namely Flashback 2012 OAV & follow up Macross II: Lovers Again OAVs.

While Flashback 2012 served as a finale to BOTH SDF: Macross series & Macross DYRL motion picture, only Macross II remains the definitive DYRL-verse direct continuation.

In fact, 2 PC Engine Super CD-ROM² games namely Macross 2036 & Macross: Eternal Love Song were developed in direct continuity between DYRL & Macross II.

At the moment, no new sequels for Macross II is in the offering, apart from its characters, mechas & story elements appeared in Macross Ultimate Frontier game with other Macross sequels as well.

Although, elements of Macross II seeped in Macross 7 in a major subtle way .... & in Macross Frontier, the term New UN Spacy crept up (somehow could be a carry over from Macross II, or Shoji Kawamori's little nugget of memento to us Macross II fans).
