Popy Co, Ltd.has been a Japanese toy manufacturer of the 1970's and early 1980's. The company was owned by Bandai.
Popy sponcered Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross(Wikipedia English) "The Joint-Investment consist of IMAI-KAGAKU Co. Ltd. and ARII-Works Ltd, LS Co. Ltd. , Gakken Co. Ltd." in August. 1 (Wednesday) A.D.1984.
In those days, Popy announced VHT-2A1/A2 Spartus and VFH-10 A/B Auroran,VFH-12 Supreme Auroran
Super Alloy (Chogokin) ,Transfomable toys in scheduled for the Christmas marketing wars/campaigns.
But Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross has cancelled the next episode 24 to 39 (Total 16 episodes) because of the poor scriptwriter or director.
Thus Popy left the Joint Investment Groups (Imai, Arii ,LS,Gakken) , Popy and BANDAI has any kind of Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross toys (Transformake and figures,and so on.)
前作までのタカトクトイスに代わりバンダイがメインスポンサーになった。
番組開始時にアニメ雑誌等で公表された情報によると、スパルタスの変形玩具を発売する予定となっていたが、関連商品を一切発売しないままスポンサーを離れた。
TVCMは当時公開を控えていた『超時空要塞マクロス 愛・おぼえていますか』の商品のものが放映された。
プラモデルは前作までのイマイ・有井製作所にエルエスが加わり、3社共同となった。
しかし、ラインアップは、1/12スケールの 各種アーミング・ダブレットが9種発売されたものの、それ以外には、1/48スケールのサイフリート・ヴァイス専用バイオロイド前期II型改（赤）と1/20スケールのフラッシュ・クラッパー（ホバーバイク・ジャンヌのフィギュア付）の2種がエルエスから発売されたのみ。
ロボットアニメであるにもかかわらず、主人公側（サザンクロス軍）のロボット類の玩具は、結局これらスポンサーからは発売されなかった。

Interesting take on Nova, although I don't think I would have known who she was supposed to be even with the hair color and headset without being told.

INTERESTING AND DIFFERENT. HAIR COLOR WOULD NEED TO CHANGE.
ANYONE KNOW THE COST IN U.S. DLRS?
AND SECOND.. IS THIS A JAPAN RELEASE OF SOUTHERN CROSS ITEMS?

October 4, Warner-bros. chairman suggested that the Robotech Merchandising notinfluenced by Macross commodification of the rights, which did not cause Maiasterling VFA-6ZX recall quality.
