Carl Macek and Tommy Tune @ RobotechX Fan Booth

Let it sink in fans! The man himself who is responsible for introducing anime to America, the man who brought the best series of all time: Mr. Carl Macek. Appropriately enough signing autographs and talking with fans at the RobotechX fan booth. Many thanks go out to Tommy Yune (Harmony Gold) for making this possible. For the Spanish fans Jesus Barrero, the voice of Rick Hunter/Scott Bernard in the Spanish dub also made an appearance.

Comic Con 2008 - Day 1 July 24

 comic con 3008

RobotechX BoothWhere to begin? Of course! The fan-run RobotechX booth. If might have been on short notice, but MEMO1DOMINION certainly put together a fantastic fan booth.

Decorated with Robotech items old and new: DVDs, comics, figures and other items were on display for the fans. Since this was the first year RobotechX set a fan booth, we were not sure how the public was going to respond. We were certainly surprised at the amount of people that actually knew about Robotech. Even shadowed by big names like STAR WARS and others, the fans knew what they liked: ROBOTECH.

A big thanks to all the fans who helped out with the booth itself and also Harmony Gold for allowing us to borrow the Shadow Chronicles banner. There is much more to talk about. The Robotech Panel, Robotech Booth and even The TUNA that terrorized the exhibit hall! Not really, but it sure was funny! Click on the read more link to view the full article.

Comic Con 2008 - Preview Night July 23

Comic Con 2008 Image

Cyclone image Insane best describes Comic Con 2008 Preview Night. If you didn't know any better, you would think Preview Night was Saturday night. It was mega-crowded as usual and if this is a sign of things to come in the next few days, it is ALWAYS going to be packed.

For the fortunate many that purchased their passes early enough, picking up their badge in the beginning was a bit of a wait. The lines twirled around all the way to the bay with no end in sight. After about an hour-and-a-half wait, the staff recognized that there was a bog in the lines and quickly reacted. Within 15 minutes the lines moved as fast as possible. Once inside the Convention Center, staff worked even faster at printing out the badges and getting everyone settled.

Finally once inside so many booths, so little time. Granted this was only preview night and the biggest event of the night revolved around the Fringe Pilot Screenings. The Toynami booth was not quite ready as the crew was still setting up the display.
