WATCHMEN was created by SIGHUP

Yeah I know, it is a bit dated. But I finally got to watch this last night. Mixed feelings about the thing. Being a Warner Brothers film however. I paid special attention to the intro if the movie.

I hope the RLAM can do something similar, it probably won't. But the whole setting in the past as it were was a nice move. I'm wondering if this is the only way we will get to see a VF-1S.

One can only dream eh?

How do you think it stacks up to the comic? Personally I think that it was a good adaptation overall but I thought that every change that they made(not counting cuts for time which were pretty reasonable) was inferior to the original version. And the soundtrack was mostly awful from an appropriateness standpoint.

Personally, I found the adaptation to be pretty damn good, but for one or two issues...

first, the gratuitous sex scene was unneccessary. Sure, they did the deed as 'Archie' hovered over the city, but it was a classy type if implication, as opposed to the 'in-your-face' style of soft-core pron that this director seems to enjoy. For another example, '300', in it's graphic novel form, had no such scene, but the director just HAD to throw it in there. Ridiculous.

Second, I think that the ending was done well, but one wonders if the oriinal ending with the giant alien-type critter would've been better. I mean, flash-of-light/buildings-and-cities-destroyed effects are somewhat overused, and therefore, a cop-out, in my opinion. I think they could've done better to try and stick closer to the critter idea.

Heh no I meant mixed feelings about the movie itself.

It seemed a bit like it was trying too hard (no pun intended). Maybe its because I was sleepy, overall it was ok. Too long (again no pun) of a flick maybe. But I did like the action scenes. I never read the book/comics.

NEVER READ THE COMICS OR NOVEL.

BUT SAW THE MOVIE. TO BAD ONE OF THE CHARACTERS I LIKED HAD TO DIE. THE COMIC I THINK. HEHEHE

NICE STORY ON HOW THE COMIC ALMOST RAPED ONE OF THE MEMBERS AND LATER HAD A DAUGHTER.. THAT WAS A NICE TOUCH TO THE DRAMA. WHO WAS DOING WHO AND WHO WAS RELATED TO WHO..

Both Watchmen and 300 are Warner Brothers film properties, they also share the same director with Zack Snyder who directed both of those movies.

BTW he's an anime fan as well.

As you can see, Zack and his wife have been watching Appleseed lately! ;)

If you have not read Watchmen, please do sometime. It is widely considered to be the greatest graphic novel ever written and while that statement leads to a certain amount of hype I personally can not think of any comic series or miniseries that is better.
