I only know of the three, but there could also be a fourth variation; if the regular Matchbox release has two variations of Made In Japan and Made In China. Mine is made in China. I havent seen any visible variations between them aside from the Playmates which intentionally had weathering applied, but I have also not handled an Irwin release. Its an expensive question to answer given the collector's value ;)

Yeah, its not easy to get a Hovertank and they aren't cheap. Do you have any idea how many were produced for each product line, or in total?

Anyone remember what website hosted the guide for converting a Matchbox Hovertank into its third (transport/tank) mode, or who actually did the conversion? I vaguely remember reading it a long time ago but only have a couple of pics that Brian saved.

AND WHAT WERE THE PRICES FOR THEM BACK IN THE DAY.

I USED TO HAVE 2 TILL I MOVED OUT OF MY MOMS HOUSE.

BEEN THINKING OF RECOLLECTING THEM BUT NOT SURE IF EVERYTHING WILL BE IN THEM.

If I knew you could modify the Matchbox Hovertank like those pics, I never would have sold mine back in the day. So AWESOME!

Does anyone know which version of the Bioroid Invid Fighter is more correct? The original Matchbox release is mostly red while the Playmates release has quite a bit of grey on it to break up the black. The problem with this toy is it isn't actually based on either the Bioroid Invid Fighter or Zor's Red Battloid, its an unused design that afaik was never portrayed in color so how they decided what color scheme to use is anybody's guess unless someone actually knows. :)

Hey, I know this post is kind of old and I don't know if this is the right place to post this, sorry if it isn't. I've noticed some people searching for the Matchbox SDF-1 playset, both on forums and on the official Robotech forum. I have one that I got as a child, just found it in storage. Its never been opened, mint in box. The box has some slight wear on it from the years. Any idea what this would be worth? and where I can sell this, other than ebay?

Here is my email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I've posted this in other places, looking for more info, because I'm not a collector and would like to get this off my hands.
