Happy New Year 2010!

Another year is out and a new one on is in. Let us take a look at what happened in the world of Robotech in 2009. Still in the same stagnant state as far as development goes, aside from a few writers working on different drafts for the RLAM script. Shadow Rising is still in a standstill until completion of the RLAM.

Another year is out and a new one on is in. Let us take a look at what happened in the world of Robotech in 2009. Still in the same stagnant state as far as development goes, aside from a few writers working on different drafts for the RLAM script. Shadow Rising is still in a standstill until completion of the RLAM.

Maia Recall

Maia Masterpiece Shadow Fighter Recall

The year didn’t exactly start positively with the Maia Masterpiece Shadow Fighter Recall. Due to numerous complaints about the quality, Toynami issued a voluntary 60-day recall of the toy. According to Toynami the lack of quality was due the enlisting of a new factory to manufacture the product.

Fandom Works

This is the best part of Robotech currently. Since no new material has been released, fans need to entertain themselves and each other with fan fiction, fan art, podcasts and what not. These are just some of the works that were continued or started in 2009. Good job by everyone and many thanks for all your efforts in keeping the fandom alive! On life support but it is ALIVE!

Atlantech Universe - adds new comic strips, more stories and art.
The Destroids' Last Dance - Fan fiction by Robert Elwell (a.k.a. Viper).
The Protoculture Times- a podcast by JT about everything Robotech.
Robotech 00 - Robotech based podcast by the infamous Doug Bendo, listen if you dare.

Fandom Drama

Finally we close with the never ending FAN DRAMA! Yes, ever since the beginning of Robotech, drama has been a persistent phenomenon in the fandom. It plagues other franchises as well. Arguments get heated, people disagree, they want to be right so and and so forth. Just remember folks its just a cartoon so lets try not to take it so seriously. We hope we can all work together in 2010 to make the fan base more enjoyable.

Happy New Year 2010!
