Turkish Star Wars was created by Gubaba

It's a lot like Robotech, really...some foreign film taken, hacked to pieces, and a new story built around it.

As such, I expect everyone here to discuss its "epic" quality...

Hey if it helps introduce the Turks to the genre, paving the way for more foreign films in the country. Then perhaps it should be *epic.*

I wonder if there are "Star Wars Purists" in Turkey who insist that the original American Star Wars film is WAAAY better than the Turkish version, and "Turkish Stars Wars" fans who get pissed at them...and perhaps make Youtube videos showing bits from other Star Wars films with Turkish Star Wars music added...?

It's funny that this came up on the forum. A couple of months back, I was working on writing a Star Wars/Star Trek hybrid film where I planned on taking footage from the first Star Wars trilogy and first six films of Star Trek and build a whole new story from the footage. Alas, I lack the resources to implement it.
Robotech... Macross... I like 'em both.

Star Wars and Star Trek do not share enough visual similarity to do it. However, the original Battlestar Galactica and A New Hope share enough similarity that one could do it. You would have to edit the sound effects to conform to one another to make it even remotely believable.

But...why would anyone want to do that...?

I'm sure there is SOMEONE out there that might want to do so. Was Battlestar Galactica visually inspired by A New Hope? I would say that's a pretty safe bet. You could probably cobble together a 'believable' story if you wanted.

Besides, outright adaptation of stories from other countries happens all the time. A number of the visual gags in classic anime (hammers et al) are clearly inspired by Looney Tunes animation. How many shows have been made that basically tell the EXACT same stories (Law & Order comes to mind right off the bat) as the original series from another country.
