In our debriefing and library at work, I had some time to read through a good portion of this bill. I think most people here are reading way too far into it. While I don't have the time to go into details of the bill, I will say that in its context, it will have no bearing on Macross whatsoever, since the issues this bill addresses doesn't reflect anything Macross has been doing in recent history. A quick online definition of pornography (noun) obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.

Given this definition, many take this definition as too subjective. What is artistic merit, and what defines it? Other additions to this definition have led to ideas of the intent at which the picture, photograph, or writing is made to give. With this addition to the definition, it seems that Macross shall have no ill effect on this bill, which in my personal opinion, is a good thing.

While I haven't seen anime that reflects the issue discussed, apparently it's out there enough to become an issue. while the bill is interesting, it's very similar to what is established here in the states. If any anime is going to suffer, it seems the Hentai, and that sort of anime is what will probably have to change. Again, that's probably a good thing, but for those wanting to relate this to Robotech or Macross, you're barking up the wrong tree.
