OK Armchair pilots and Raptor lovers. To all you chuckle heads who think the F-14D isn't impressive next to todays F-22 Laggbats (did i mention i don't like the 22's?) I had the great and unexpected pleasure of observeing 2 F-14 Tomcats in Trail formation flying over I-88 heading south east at only 200ft AGL. I dont' know why they were here but i can say they make me cry seeing them.
They are an awe inspireing sight no matter how old. Oh and one more thing. As a Former representitive of NAS Oceana (Master Jet Base and last strong hold of the Tomcat) The only reason it got decommed was because of it's high maintenance cost, NOT it's performance in combat.
