Oh I've had to deal with my fair share of idiots too from both my medical insurance and people in doctor's offices, and hospitals. Which is the worst because you rely on these people for help, especially when your life is on the line. I think its a combination of plain idiocy and ignorance.

Like for example, anytime I need to see a specialist they require a referral from my PCP, which is fine I can get that. However when it comes to needing medical records for some reason they can't do something as simple as faxing or emailing it over. I have lost count of how many times I have gone for an appointment only to find that the doctor never received my records. It even happened once AFTER I had called my PCP's office to double check they sent it. So now whenever I need to make an appointment, pardon my french but I fucking dread it because I have to deal with these idiots.

And when you're not feeling well this only adds more stress that I don't even need, so I end up feeling worse. But the one moment that definitely takes the cake for blatant ignorance is the one time I was taken to the ER because of a bad migraine attack where I had temporary paralysis on the left side of my body and I could barely think or talk and while I'm in agonizing pain all these nurses and doctors are asking me questions and I'm getting frustrated because I can barely communicate with them.

But that's not the icing on the cake just yet.................so they give me Dilaudid for the pain which helped and the symptoms finally let up and I could talk again only now I was heavily drugged and close to the verge of passing out, then this crabby looking nurse comes in and asks "Is anyone coming to pick you up?" I said no, because I was in rehab at the time and the one friend I had at the time couldn't get me cause of work which was fine, but then the nurse said "Well we have to discharge you now" I didn't argue because I was in no shape to but omg they actually let me walk out of there in my drugged state and I had no idea where the hell I was but thankfully I remembered the address of the rehab program and I hitched a ride from a nice man who was kind enough to drive me there. LUCK is the word, because even now I think about how horrible that would have been had that man not been a good guy, but a serial killer or even a rapist ffs lol. I laugh now but that's a scary thought and I really got lucky that day.

But I loathe that hospital and its only two miles up the street from me now. But the second time I was taken there I let them have it. I lashed out and called them every curse word I could think of because of the situation they left me in. I told them you are NOT going to make me walk out of here again like that. LOL I think my room was code red the entire time I was there. None of the staff wanted to deal with me and I don't blame them.

But there you have it. That's stupidity for you. And I have zero patience for it today.
