MACROSS IMPORT TOYS ... DID HELL FREEZE OVER? was created by MEMO1DOMINION

YOU GOT IT.

BUT LETS WAIT AND SEE THEY DO END UP ON THE SHELF BEFORE SOMEONE HIGHER UP GETS INVOLVED IN JAPAN. I MEAN, ARE NOT MACROSS TOYS SELLING THERE? DID SOMEONE FINALLY SAY,

"YOU KNOW, WHY DO WE NOT MAKE A DEAL WITH HG AGAIN?"

WILL FANDOMS START GETTING TOGETHER AND SING KUMBAYA?

OR DOES IT JUST MAKE CENT'S OR SENSE?

EITHER WAY... THEY ARE HERE LEGALLY

Revoltech Macross

Straight from Japan! Kaiyodo's "Revoltech" series of toys feature a patented ball-joint that allows for an unprecedented freedom of posability while also maintaining the nice ratcheting clicks of traditional toy joints.

ALWAYS SAID. I WONT BUY THEM IF THEY NOT LEGAL.

THIS IS JUST A FIRST. I HOPE OTHER COMPANY'S MAKE A MOVE AS WELL. ONE HUGE FIRST STEP. NOT BUYING RIGHT AWAY. WILL SEE HOW THE MARKET WILL SETTLE.

HG PRICE WILL BE A LITTLE TO HIGH CONSIDERING THAT THEIR SHIPPING PRICE IS REALLY UP THERE. BUT ONCE THEY FLOOD IN TO MARKETS AND WORK THE PRICES DOWN THEN THAT'S WHEN I WILL BUY.

OH come on MEMO HG is just getting these from a import distributor no different than say somebody at F&S. They them selves Gray Area import because they can make some change off them plus it's not a Yamato "Macross" product, if Toynami had a Megazone license they wouldn't be selling the Grarland.

Even the 1/55 Valk deal fell flat, word around the campfire here (Tokyo) is somebody high up at Bandai figure out it wasn't a smart move which was wise since the next scenario would have been BW looking into the matter.

I wish as much as the next guy there wasn't a lame license bottle neck but lip glossing something like this with "DID HELL FREEZE OVER?" just makes it looking like your trying to ruffle a particular groups feathers.

Still I could be wrong, so let me know if they "officially" slap a Toynami sticker over the Kaiyodo logo, then I'll be impressed. My joy will only to be followed by the legal back lash that will soon after ensue.

"I MEAN, ARE NOT MACROSS TOYS SELLING THERE?"

Actually nobody is really buying these Revoltech Valks here (Tokyo), like the non-transformable one released by Kaiyodo prior to this one it's just a scaled up and tweaked Gatchpon they already released years back.

RT.com selling the Revoltech Transforming Valks is no real surprise. It's a better quality than the Toynami offerings, therefore a better value to the fanbase.

They are simply doing what every other online retailer is doing and importing the products for resale here.

Judging by what Save is saying (I trust it, since the man is very close to the Macross toy pulse in Japan) then Kaiyodo would be crazy not to sell to anyone willing to buy a line that is clearly not doing well domestically. Which in itself is no surprise considering the superior quality of the Bandai and Wave offerings of the same mecha.

Now if the "Toynami" branding shows up on the Kaiyodo products that is a far riskier venture. Kaiyodo would risk loosing their licenses to produce Macross products domestically, immediately and in future. Considering they sell more than just the SDFM mecha, that could hurt them.

Maybe they are willing to risk it, who knows. The one thing that can be counted on is that if they do loose their license, by allowing the re-branding of their products with the HG "Toynami" brand, it will be a permanent loss. It is extremely doubtful Big West would grant another license to them in future.

DON'T MIND THAT IDEA ZINJO,

STILL FROM THE LAST DEAL WITH HG AND M7 TRASH WAS A BIG THING TILL IT NEVER HAPPENED. WHO KNEW WHAT STRINGS ARE BEING WORKED IN JAPAN.

THEN SINCE THEIR WILL BE A RLAM AND GOING INTO JAPAN, A PRETTY GOOD RISK BY THE COMPANY TO WALK AWAY FROM BW TIES TO GO ALONG WITH A NEW VENTURE IN THE RLAM PRODUCTS FOR JAPAN OR MADE FROM JAPAN AS WELL.

NOT SURE. TO MANY VARIABLES. SO ITS A WAIT AND SEE.

Too many variables, indeed. Maybe they'll decide that neither Macross nor Robotech are worth their time, and start making Great Space Coaster toys instead.

Anything's possible, after all...

MEMO,

I checked out the Podcast, well hey that is good news for you guys State side. Still I would imagine it may effect Kaiyodo with further licenses but that would just be pure speculation on my part. Still I talked to some toy company guys here and they first scratched their heads then also speculated the same thing. Let's hope for the best.

I don't think the Yamato thing would work out any time in the near future; their is the same issue and second bad history between the two parties and I'm not talking about HG & BW.

I actually think the Toynami 1/100 toys are better than the Revoltech toys aside from packaging.
