Viper, are you fluent in Japanese? because I watched the series twice and I am still not in the loop about the story.Or like you kind of mentioned earlier, you got the better fan sub.I guess I lucked out with Do you remember love? and Plus because I got the story the first times around (I watched Plus in Japanese with subs before english dub) but since some things were cleared up then I probably can finish re-watching it a 3rd time with less plot stumps.
Heck, who knows? I might actually like it more.
Since I am not able to do torrents right now,I think Seto recommended a good fan sub version but I forgot the name of that fan sub distribution because I seen a whole box set with art and it was from China but too scared to get it incase it was bad subbed too.
One other thing, does all Macross Frontier versions have that "kareoke" subs that appear when folks start singing? because for some odd reason that kind of distracts me from the story.

Hardly. I just pay attention to detail, and shamelessly ask people who know more than me.

In all honesty, I can't say weather all of them have the Karaoke subtitles, but it might be a reasonable assumption to think so. It seems to be rather common.

Got to watch up to I think 4 episodes last nite and I see what you mean about the scene I described and I forgot that Klan already wounded the Vajra head.
One thing that caught my thots was,The name of the "messiah" was VF-25 and was wondering if the "25" was another homage to the Macross 25th anniversary?
And if I may be so bold to think that maybe Macross anticipated U.S. would like it too? because there are plenty of things with english language for example the "i'm dead" sign Mikhail hung on Alto and even the control panels in the VFs has english. Those were just positive thots on that Kawamori appreciate "western" fans too

While I can't confirm that factoid, right now, it would seem logical, since there's a LOT of '25' references in the show (The Frontier Fleet being #25, and even the show itself having 25 episodes. Kawamori, as I understand, has a thing for numbers).

While that might be a good idea, I don't think so.
The 25th emigration fleet was multi-cultural to begin with. Remember, there are scenes in the show, shoing aspects of the islands that are deffinitely taken from different parts of Earth (San Francisco, Tokyo, and if I'm not mistaken, France or England).
Even the note that Sheryl left on her mirror, for Grace, was written in french.
Insofar as my understanding of modern Japanes culture is concerned, English is something of a common 'side language', and it's taught regularly in Japanese schools.
Although, Kawamori may have seen the idea of Western viewers enjoying Frontier, and thought it was a good thing.
Let me do some research, and I'll get back to you on these points.

Does anyone find this strange?,It is Robotech's 25th anniversary and I am at home catching up and re-watching Macross Frontier and had plans to do either Plus or buy Macross II lovers again on Ebay.I am being legit here folks and I know folks here and at MW.com think it is a rant against recent actions,in reality I been getting into Macross, just not the fandom but seeing Kawamori recognizes fans and even made a tribute to Macross 25th anniversary is proof in itself that Macross has more integrity than the way HG is treating Robotech and that opened my eyes.
Sometimes I wish I discovered Macross under better circumstances instead of following the pipers crusades and believing false hype.

Like you, I found out about the various facets of Macross in a rather backwards way, as well. (Primarily because I was ignorant of just how massive the franchise was, thanks to HG's infernal embargo!)
In the simplest terms I can find, there's a large amount of people who've found out about Macross in similar ways, and a lot of us have felt the urge to facepalm when we realize that this stuff has been out there for a while.
Now, the irony of RT's 25th Anniversary isn't lost on me, either, but neither am I simply ambiguous about it. I'm intensely angry about certain things, as RT was an improtant part of my childhood, and I hate seeing it abused in the way it is.
So, you're in good company.

It's possible to copy a Bluray (not easy, but possible) and they can be re-authored with the right software.Heck,
Since I now got a 3 day lay over at my current job I plan to watch what I can on Macross Frontier and I have no choice but to suffer thru the bad fan sub I got because the Blu-rays on Ebay are burned (since when can folks burn and copy Blurays?) and those prices are crazy.
The original BD discs in Japan sold (initially) for about 5500 yen, which is approximately $55.00. The way the Japanese distribute products as well as the fact that Anime is still a smaller market in Japan, it isn't unusual to see those prices, even for official releases.

I don't think you were on a path I was so it was easier and not many were second guessing your motives.Heck even here I am mocked at my rants about how HG mummyfied Robotech and that said person trying to debunk my motives with the past. But to save face I feel the same about Macross since I discovered it for real last June but the fan war caused me to frown upon the product but the Product is what makes fans. And lets not forget that I like plenty of other animes too, like Voltron,Transformers,DBZ,Gundam and I recently re-discovered Star Blazers/Yamato.
And when I peeked into Macross with good intentions I actually liked it.I even said "it was like discovering Moses' dvd collection" (I borred that from AvP) because it is kind of an old classic that was new to me.
After DYRL? I jumped to Frontier. So me admitting like Macross since June is true.
Oh,I forgot, why did Bobby lie about Ranka being his sister?,Bobby is a funny one, like his commercial cut scene he either sneezes or yells "ninjitsu"

With that being said, I'll make this offer.
I'm willing to take your statement about 'Legitimite' Macross curiosity (To paraphrase) at face value, and in that spirit, continue asking your questions. I'll do what I can to answer them, and if I can't, I know a few folks who can.
So, onward we go!

Ah, Bobby Margot... The 'prettiest' member of the SMS Macross Quarter's command crew... (In his own mind, at least)
I can't ever recall a scene where Bobby claimed to be a relative of Ranka. About the closest he ever got was during one of Ranka's initial Slef-Promotion campaigns, where she was handing out copies of a song (Which, I believe was 'Cat's Diary'.)
Her promoter had contacted Bobby to provide make-up services, and while the promotion was going on, Bobby had warned Ranka's promoter that she was the sister of a close friend of his, and if news had ever reached his (Bobby's) ears that Ranka had been hurt, abused, or exploited in any way, he would kill the promoter. (See, Bobby can go 'butch' at any moment.)
Now, In the second part of your question, the cut-scene commercial-break marker that you refer to is, indeed, hillarious.
In it, he yells "NINJIIN LOVES YOU YEAH!!!"
So, to fully grasp the hillarity of this quote, we need to reach back into hallowed antiquity (Actually, just around Episode 8 of MacF), and remember Ranka's first paying entertainment job, dancing and singing in front of the Zentradi produce market, singing the virtues of the seven-color carrot! (You should remember this. Every zentran kid that saw her gave her some kind of crap, saying the whole thing was weird.)
Now, in the following clip, you'll hear Bobby's voice actor singing the Nyan Nyan promo song, as well as 'Ninjiin Loves You Yeah!" (The song about the seven-color carrots.) At the end of this clip, you'll hear Bobby's yell, the one that's played in that cut-scene.
To be completely honest, this clip sends me ROFL-ing every time I hear it.
