-Right! The good thing is that we can show a network the pilot and at the same time fans who put money in to help us make it get rewards. Most pilots are NEVER shown and this way even if the networks were to say no fans still get to see this.

-A pilot is much more expensive than a typical episode as it requires extended pre-production to design all the characters, build models and backgrounds, and work out the overall story direction.

-if we pass our funding goals early, then we could certainly add additional episodes or running time as part of the stretch goals.

-this was a personal pet project of Carl Macek's. Since his untimely passing, we have simply prioritized his projects to be completed first. Love Live Alive was a relatively modest adaptation that could be turned around more quickly. Robotech Academy is a much more ambitious concept that could be produced more closely to Carl's vision with fan support.

-Around 2008, Harmony Gold was in talks with Carl Macek to develop new Robotech story ideas, and one of them would be an expansion on the "Children of Zor" concept, in a treatment called "Robotech Academy"

Robotech Academy takes place near the end of the second generation of Robotech—in the time and setting of the aborted TV series Robotech II: The Sentinels. However, as Yune was quick to explain, the series won't be following the Sentinels storyline nor the first-generation characters. “Carl's idea—because the story [of the Sentinels] had already been played out in novels and comic books—was to explore this 'universe' but with a new set of characters.”

I agree, I like the designs of the children of Zor from what I've seen so far. Would like to see more of them. Anyone know who the character designer is, definitely not Tommy as his style is way different?
