Robotech Live Action Movie was created by sorral

I am excited about the possibility of a live movie based on Robotech. I do have concerns though.

I waited and saw the Transformers movie, good work, but they changed all the charactors, and made the transformations too complex. It ruined it for me. I beg WB and Toby...please don't screw up Robotech!!!!!!!!! Make it look like the cartoon, the games, and so on. Heck, if they can figure out how to make scale model toys of the VTs change into all 3 modes...IT WORKS!

I'm right with you on this one. I sure hope they DON'T SCREW IT UP!!! Everyone I talk to about the Live Action tells me the same thing. But at least we have to expect some changes. For example I'm sure they are not using the F-14s anymore. No doubt they will try to "get with the times."

We'll just have to wait and see.

Well Optimus had to be changed to a different type of cab in truck form because they couldn't make the transformation work in a 3D environment if they hadn't and I can't remember why Bumblebee ended up being a Camero but they didn't want to use a VW for some reason. Starscream got updated to an F-22 just for the sake of modernizing I believe.

and made the transformations too complex.

Actually that was the first thing I noticed, it was still good though I thought but I agree they took it too far trying to make it cool.

I hope not, I still think the F-14 looks seriously cool...

Besides, Skull Squadron was based on the Jolly Rogers Squadren in the Navy which dates back to WWII. It would be rather insulting to them I am sure to see their logo on an Air Force fighter. They could use the F-18 but that's not exactly modern anymore either and it's been done, the upcoming F-35 would be modern but it's a smaller aircraft and would probably too much resemble the Alpha I would think. I think the F-14 would invoke memories of Top Gun in a lot of minds and might end up being a draw for people.

There was also a Army Air Corps bomber squadron during WWII known as the Jolly Rogers but I don't think we're going to use WWII bombers in Robotech.

My avatar is the actual Jolly Rogers Logo, you can see more about them and a bunch of great pics at:

I also forgot...

The old Jetfire Transformer toy was identical to the VF-1S in Robotech and it went into all three modes, trust me

Sorry to be the wet blanket, but I hope they dump the F-14 wannabe VF-1 in favor of something a tad more modern. I'm personally sick to death of hearing how f&cking wonderful the g*dd@mn VF-1 is. I'm personally sick to death of hearing how wonderful a mecha designer Shoji Kawamori is and how he can do no wrong. I'm personally sick to death of retarded transforming warships that serve no practical purpose but to be wanking material for fanboys. I hope they dump every stupid, kitschy, rertarded aspect of The Macross Saga in favour of something a tad more in line with a serious military sci-fi drama.

Be that as it may, love the tomcat, love macross and less serious military sci-fi for me! ;) After all its a cartoon.
