Has anyone ever taken online courses? If so what is the experience like? Because I'm actually thinking about taking a few history courses in the near future, just for the fun of it and to learn something more than I already know.
So are online courses worth it? I know they can be pricey, but I would think it would be less of a hassle than attending a university.

Yeah. Ive taken a few online courses. Very short/basic ones. Mostly in PC/text, since I've never been 'in with it' on computers early on in life.

They are good if you are busy, working, or housebound or hate school environments. Costs are similar to class courses, however you do find that you'll be able to spread out the costs in payments rather then lump sums.

For me, personally, the teacher support wasn't that great, and getting help via email or telephone isn't ideal in some situations. However I'm sure its different between companies/subjects.

Well naturally............lol I'd also take some other courses such as the history of European art, just the kinds of subjects that fascinate me. And while they might be pricey, it definitely gives me some new goals to work towards. I know with my current condition there aren't any definite answers but I'd love to complete some history courses and get the chance to travel to Egypt and Greece some day =[ I hope anyways.

Cool, sounds like a good plan. You should come over here to visit the British Museum and see all the artifacts there, which we have more or less stolen from other countires. Got a whole host of mummified bodies and Pharoh Golds. Go on a Euro-hike. Start in the UK, end up in Akrotiri(Greece), then boat or fly over to Alexandria and/or Cairo. Travel the trains, etc, and camp out at night. Take about three weeks minimum off to do it, and see all the great stuff. Oh and people like me, Nenad, etc, etc =]

now I'm even more determined to travel............and yes of course I would see you and Nenad <3 you guys are my BFFS

I'm getting ready to start Online Courses myself actually. My Mother inlaw took some to get her legal assistant certification. I'm going for a BFA in Animation myself (with hopes of continuing to my Masters later on) through a west coast school.

I'll keep yah posted on how it goes if you like. I wont be starting till September though.
