Love, Live Alive is an adaptation of the 1985 Genesis Climber Mospeada OVA. In 2011, Catalano was featured in Harmony Gold's Robotech Universe directed and narrated by independent filmmaker Keith Maxwell. Robotech Universe focused on the Carl Macek's creative genius in creating the series and features interviews with the cast and crew involved with the original production. Catalano's experience playing the character of RAND in the NEW GENERATION is highlighted. Catalano states, "When we were making the series, we had no idea that it would be such a tremendous success. Carl Macek was the driving force that created this wonderful show and the Robotech fans have kept it going. They're the best. I am very excited to be doing the Rand character again!"

Catalano is best known as an author and playwright. His plays have been produced in New York City, Los Angel, NYCHonolulu, Hawaii and Dayton, Ohio including The American Rose Garden, Cyclotron (La Mama, NYC), Evolution, Waiting For to Go (Kennedy Center, Hawaii), and Saturday Nights. A filmed version of his published play Autumn Sweet, a finalist at the Dayton Playhouse competition was screened earlier this month. Autumn Sweet was optioned for film by Warner Bros. Studios. The Resting Place has had a staged reading by the Echo Theatre Company as part of a grant from the Showtime Network and his play Myths and Tangos toured in Los Angeles.

As an executive, Catalano has served in various capacities at Lorimar Studios, Beverly Hills Playhouse, and Southern California Center for the Arts and Warner Bros. where he had a “first look” writing deal for the development of television and motion picture properties. He has also written and performed in animated television series and feature films including DIGIMON DIGITAL MONSTERS, THE ADVENTURES OF DYNAMO DUCK for Fox TV, the sci-fi series ROBOTECH and ABC television series including LA LAW, NYPD BLUE, MURDER ONE, CIVIL WARS and UGLY BETTY. His published books are Art of the Monologue, White Knight Black Nigh, The Creative Audience, Autumn Sweet and The Resting Place. His newest book RAND UNWRAPPED – THE CONFESSIONS OF A ROBOTECH WARRIOR which is about his experience as an actor on the series is currently available on Amazon and Kindle.

Catalano conducts seminars on acting and writing nationwide and has been a featured speaker at the Annual Writer’s Conference and Annual Stage, Screen and Television Actor’s Conference sponsored by San Diego State University. He also conducts theatre and acting seminars at University of Southern California and was a featured speaker in Europe lecturing in Turkey, Greece and Italy.
