That's a good point, and it begs the question...Macross managed to produce a successful, 50-issue biweekly magazine.AND THE PROBLEM WAS READING JAPANESE. ONE OF THE REASONS I DID NOT BUY THEM AFTERWARDS.
Why doesn't Robotech do the same? In English?
I mean...Robotech is more popular than Macross, right? And if they publish it digitally, Mav says it'll be a success, right?
So why don't they?

You see Gubaba, Kevin and Tommy are such visionaries, that their ideas are way ahead of our time. Everything that they came up with is decades ahead of it's time

That is nowhere near the quality or the effort of a weekly magazine like Macross Chronicle... I guess people are happy with peanuts after all

As always, you missed the point completely.
Neither Gubaba or I are talking about re-re-releasing old material in a new format. We were talking about HG producing a publication similar to Macross Chronicle.
One can only dream right?

That it's simply too soon for them to be rereleasing the magazine. The first version wrapped up less than two years before, and the second version was mostly a reprint of it.

50 issues of what now, sounds like the first run was 25 issues, with the rest being mostly reprints. Is that what we're talking about here?
Also who's telling the truth, was it weekly or biweekly? Someone needs to check their facts.
And if the magazine was a success Gubaba why did the second run ended abruptly?
Am I guessing the quality just wasn't' there?
I wouldn't' be calling that a success, more like someone looking at the situation with Rose coloured glasses.
Also, Harmony Gold is not in the magazine/book publishing business. Their business partners are however like DC comics, Del Ray, Palladium and so on.
In fact, did you know that digital editions of Protoculture Addicts: volumes 1 to 10 when it was called the official Robotech fanzine are available for purchase at DriveThruRRP?
rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/51602/Pro...ture-Addicts-%231-10
I say, Harmony Gold have their partners whom are involved in the publishing arm are working and have worked in bringing digital copies of past published works to the fans.
Future works? Well listen carefully to what was said at SDCC.
I'd say HG and their partners are on the ball with this one.

Okay, Mav...there's this really great site called "Google" ( www.google.com ) that allows you to type in things and search them all over the web.50 issues of what now, sounds like the first run was 25 issues, with the rest being mostly reprints. Is that what we're talking about here?
It's one tool that people can use to do research, and it's quite handy.
If you Google "Macross Chronicle," these are two useful links which come up:
macross.anime.net/wiki/Macross_Chronicle
books.shopro.co.jp/macross/
So yeah...fifty unique issues.

The first, 50-issue run was successful. It was announced at fifty issues, all of them came out. The second run was going to be eighty issues, each one made up mostly of reprinted material from the first run, with some new things thrown in. It ended abruptly because there just releasing a test run and the sales weren't up to snuff. The reason that fw bought it seems to be simply that they were relaunching it too soon. (The same publisher, D'agostini, also made similar Gundam, Evangelion, Yamato and other magazines...but they usually wait three or four years before doing a reprinting). And if the magazine was a success Gubaba why did the second run ended abruptly?

Why doesn't HG follow your advice and release their own stuff digitally, as you suggest? Why are you advising Bandai to go a certain route and then defend HG for NOT going down that same route...?

Apologies in advanced since i have not read the entire thread here. But according to the SDCC 2012 RT Panel they did. Tommy talked about releasing their stuff digitally in E-Book format.
