All I can say about Round 3..............is WOW!

Hello there!

The voting was intense on a global scale.....truly a WORLDWIDE EVENT.......

Thank you to all....not just for the tournament...but for making the last 10 months a real Robotech party here on The Protoculture Times! Just a bunch of people with one objective.....to celebrate the hell out of 25 years!

And the best part about, with something like this.....we the fans are an active part of the celebration

Round 3 of The Character Clash saw some of the most classic matchups that you could find in ANY Robotech Character Tournament final match and it's a shame to see some of them go!

You thought about it....you voted.......and in this round you could have voted on the special blog post OR on the right side but now........

MARIE CRYSTAL (MASTERS) - 55%
RAND (NEW GEN.) - 45%

Has Marie.....leader of the Black Lions.....become the character of DESTINY?


ROOK BARTLEY (NEW GEN.) - 41%
LANCER/YELLOW DANCER (NEW GEN)- 59%

The Soldier Boy wouldn't mind being "Lonely" as the tournament champion!


MAX STERLING (MACROSS) - 74%
LISA HAYES (MACROSS) - 26%

WHOA! Thought Lisa would have fared better!........Can't stop......CAN'T STOP THE MAX-MAN!!!!!!


ANGELO DANTE (MASTERS) - 26%
MIRIYA-PARINO STERLING - 74%

Like husband...like wife.......but I'm sad to see Angie's journey in this tournament ending. Great showing!


DANA STERLING (MASTERS) - 47%
LYNN MINMEI (MACROSS) - 53%

It won't be a full Sterling Tournament! Will the Voice that brought down an alien armada bring down the competition?


JANICE EM (SENTINELS)- 19%
BREETAI (MACROSS) - 81%

Let's just start calling the Zentraedi Commander THE BULLDOZER because he just pushes and leaves rubble in his path!


ROY FOKKER (MACROSS) - 90%
SERA (NEW GEN.) - 10%

Roy takes the largest percentage of votes in this round! Everyone who has taken on the "Big Brother" has met a crushing defeat!


HENRY GLOVAL (MACROSS) - 41%
RICK HUNTER (MACROSS)- 59%

This was the hardest one to come to grips with as I really had "The Captain" making it to the finals.......it saddens me....BUT the votes and the fans have spoken! Can the "Admiral" succeed where the "Captain" couldn't???


What incredible results and the fans coming out in mass! This tournament has a life of its own! And as a result of this last Round..................................with no further delays......

So there you have it.......our "Elite Eight" ..................and I think fan's are going to really think about their votes before placing them....

This is definitely another "Robotech Moment" for me and I want to thank David for the time he took in answering my questions, We talk about how he got in to the art business, his sci fi interests, the Robotech art, and his thoughts on the "digital age vs. traditional art"

Oh and by the way......for the listeners who were kids in the 80s.....David also has a very special connection to the Transformers franchise............(go to the blog site to see what I mean, I'm sure it will bring back a lot of memories!

Some awesome art there, but that Breetai's pretty funky. And Scott's got some serious forehead going on now that I look at it. Still, majorly cool stuff otherwise.
