Changing the names alone wouldn't do it...unless they get an Asian actor to play "Rick."

It'd be funny if they made a Japanese version that pulled a reverse Power Rangers...using the US special effects shots but changing all the scenes with actors...

But nah. I doubt they'd do that.

Anyway, Japan has got to figure into the equation SOMEHOW. It's the largest foreign consumer of Hollywood movies, so WB would really be cutting into their own profits if they left out Japan.

I dunno. Give it five-to-ten more years. Maybe they'll have it all worked out by then.

ALL THIS IS GOING TO BE VERY INTERESTING WHEN THINGS GET ROLLING PRODUCTION WISE AS HOW THEY DO GET THAT EQUATION FIGURED OUT LIKE GUBABA SAID.

Y'know, all the info that has been released about this Earth Defense Force, the released plot summery, it almost feels like a modern remake of the 1957 Sci-fi B-movie, of the same title. Released in the US as the Mysterions, or something like that. Alien attacks, gives Earth enough time to build defences to kill the aliens, then suicide strikes Earth. Oh with giant Toho monster shenanigens.

$836,297,228 worldwide box office and THIRD movie on the way later......so much for that "theory" so I honestly can't put much faith into any "connections" you make for EDF and Robotech.
